Common Questions

Everything you need to know about fire-resistant outdoor construction.

Zone 0, also called the Ember Resistant Zone, is the area within 0-5 feet of your home. California's new 2026 regulations require non-combustible materials in this zone. Traditional wood fencing and decking attached to homes will need to be replaced with fire-resistant alternatives like aluminum or Class A rated composite.
While the initial investment for aluminum fencing is 20-40% higher than wood, the total cost of ownership is significantly lower. Aluminum requires zero maintenance, won't rot or warp, and comes with a 25-year warranty. Wood fences typically need replacement every 10-15 years, plus annual maintenance costs.
Most residential fencing projects are completed within 1-3 days. Deck installations typically take 3-7 days depending on size and complexity. We provide exact timelines after your consultation, and we're known for meeting our commitments.
Yes. We manage the entire permit process for you, including applications, plan submissions, and scheduling inspections. Our team is familiar with requirements across all San Diego County jurisdictions, ensuring smooth approvals.
Almost none. Aluminum fencing is virtually maintenance-free. An occasional rinse with a garden hose is all that's needed. There's no painting, staining, sealing, or treating required. The powder-coat finish is designed to withstand decades of sun exposure without fading or peeling.
